Terms of use
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Bloomest Inc. for using Elmest, the app and this website. Please read them; by using Elmest you accept them.
1. What Elmest is
Elmest is a private space for fathers and partners, from the pregnancy through the year after the birth. Its companion, Romeo, is an AI made by N. Lacroix, founder of Bloomest. He listens, helps you find the words, and offers one thing you can do. What he gives is general information and support for your own wellbeing.
2. What Elmest is not
Elmest is not a medical device and not a medical, mental health or emergency service. Romeo does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, does not replace a doctor, a therapist or any other professional, and does not assess your partner or your baby. Nothing he says is medical, legal or financial advice.
Romeo is an AI and can be wrong. For anything about your health, hers or your baby’s, ask a qualified professional.
3. In an emergency
If you or someone near you is in danger, call your local emergency number now. Elmest reads messages for signs of danger and puts the emergency number for where you are in front of you, but it cannot call anyone or send help, and no person watches your conversations.
4. Who can use Elmest
You must be an adult under the law where you live. Each account is for one person, for their own use.
5. Your account
You sign in with an email link, Google or Apple; Elmest has no password. Keep your email and your phone secure, because whoever can open them can open your account. If you think someone else has used it, write to us.
6. Access and family codes
Elmest is not sold in the app, and nothing is charged to you. Access comes through a family code funded around your family, by an employer, a sponsor, a community partner or Hold One. A code opens a period of access, usually a year, from the day you enter it.
A code is for your family. It cannot be sold or passed on, and we may end access opened with a code that was obtained improperly. When your access ends, your conversations are kept, and a new code opens them again.
7. Using Elmest well
Please do not use Elmest to break the law, to harm, threaten or harass anyone, or to try to make Romeo produce harmful content. Do not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, overload or interfere with Elmest, and do not pretend to be someone else. Only send files and words you have the right to share.
8. Your words, and Romeo’s
What you write and the files you send stay yours. You allow us to use them only as far as needed to run Elmest for you: to answer you, keep your conversations, read for danger and, unless you turn it off, remember what you ask Romeo to remember.
What Romeo writes for you is yours to use, including any message he drafts for you to send. You decide what you send, and you send it yourself, from your own phone.
9. Your privacy
The privacy notice at elmest.app/privacy explains what we keep and why. In the app you can download your data, clear your conversations, ask Romeo to forget what he remembers, or delete your account, at any time. You can also delete your account as described at elmest.app/delete-account.
10. Elmest itself
The Elmest name, logo, design, words and software belong to Bloomest Inc. or to those who license them to us. You may use the app for your own personal use, and not copy, sell or redistribute it.
11. Changes
We may change, pause or stop parts of Elmest as it grows. We may also update these terms; when a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Using Elmest after a change means you accept the new terms.
12. Ending
You can stop using Elmest and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts anyone at risk.
13. Our responsibility
Elmest is provided as it is and as it is available. To the extent the law allows, Bloomest Inc. is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made on the strength of what Romeo says. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer.
14. The app stores
If you got Elmest from the App Store or Google Play, their terms apply as well. Apple and Google are not responsible for Elmest or for supporting it. Where you got Elmest from the App Store, Apple may enforce these terms as a third party.
15. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the consumer law where you live gives you stronger protection, in which case it applies.
